Hi all, I have the above steam iron (second hand) and it worked great for a couple of years, but has now stopped producing steam. It appears to heat up as it should (no errors on display and the soleplate gets hot) but no steam and no spray. I'm guessing it's probably a pump / solenoid issue and will need a new part, but hoping I can do it myself (used to be a navy engineer, so fairly competent on the tools).
I took the base off just to rule out anything obvious (broken or damaged component, burns etc) and it looks ok to me. There's a bit of burning (maybe) around the joint of the anti-calc <> heating chamber, but I can't see that being the cause.
Can anybody help out with some schematics / tips for fault finding / narrowing down what needs replacement please?
I've got some photos of it but can't post them here - can probably share via DM if you can help out.
Cheers in advance!

Premiere pro vs hitfilm Vs davinci resolve - for independent film with some graphic use
Main Post:
Hello all,
I have previous experience in editing some documentaries.
ANd now plan to venture into making short films.
One project that we are planning to do involve some GFX, of course, we are new to GFX and want something that is not too intimidating.
I have tried hands on after effects in the past. And know some basics.
What would you suggest me to try learning first considering :
Resolve
I am new to resolve, it also seems a little intimidating and learning curve, looks complex.
- Premiere pro -
we are comfortable using it. Just a little costly is downside. Also we have to get after fx (a different program, additional cost)
- Hitfilm express -
A very good alternative to premiere pro, becaus the interface is almost the same. Also the 3d tools/effects are built in. It seems more beginner friendly too.
My main goal is that we should be able to get the job done as fast as possible. Don't want to spend too much time in learning.
we are flexible with the amount of vfx that can be achieved through this. This is just a small test project, nothing serious.
I know, its all subjective, but what would you suggest someone like me? Should i stick with premiere / after fx ( industry standard does nt matter to me, cuz i dont look for job in this)
Or i should I get Hitfilm Express (and spend some money in 3d plugins)
Or am i just overthinking and i should rather just get on with resolve? Sure, its a bit of a learning curve. But would that be too much? Also it saves money so very easy for us in longer run.
Thanks in advance~ !
